LayoutView

The MetaPanel type LayoutView can show fully customized cards with the metadata items for each file. File cards can also be collapsed.

This panel type is a good choice for rapid metadata review of specific metadata schemas.

Save Layout & Filters

When hovering over a field, its content can be used for sorting as well as filtering. To save a customized LayoutView along with the set sort order and filter, click on Save Layout & Filters in the panel menu.

Customizing

The Customization button in the MetaPanel menu loads the WYSIWYG editor. It allows to customize the layout of the cards, along with defining (via drag and drop) which metadata items should be displayed. A context menu (right mouse click directly over the item) inside the editor reveals the large set of functions available for designing the card; it requires no programming skills.

When you create a new LayoutView, you need to load (extract) a sample file that has all the desired metadata items present. These items will then show up in the customization dialog and can be layouted or hidden.

Tip: This panel type is best suited for a smaller number of fields. Use the Custom Property MetaPanelID (set in Property Files) to specify which items should be shown to begin with.
